The CB programme (Certification Body) was created by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) with the aim of facilitating international trade through shared acceptance of safety tests and certificates for electrical and electronic devices.

The CB scheme: a single certificate valid in over 50 countries
The IECEE CB scheme, a multilateral agreement between the participating countries and relevant national certification body, is overseen by the IECEE (International Electrotechnical Commission for Electrical Equipment).
Over 50 countries have adhered to the CB scheme, which is widely accepted in other countries as well. Every country regulates electrical and electronic products through its own national certification and many countries accept the CB Certificate as a basis for local mandatory certification. Test’ing carries out testing for certification to British, European or international standards.
