We can perform electromagnetic field measurements (EMF) on household appliances, luminaires, Radio devices, IT Audio & Video equipment and we can demonstrate product conformity as regards human exposure to electromagnetic fields.
For household appliances, luminaires and radio devices, in addition to electromagnetic compatibility tests, EMF tests are always performed to check that the requirements concerning human exposure to electromagnetic fields, as per Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU, are met.
If the EMC tests serve to check compatibility between various pieces of electrical equipment and to ensure that there is no significant mutual interference, the EMF (Human exposure to electromagnetic fields) tests are performed to verify device safety for the human body and to check that the electronic device does not emit electromagnetic fields that are potentially harmful to human health.
The applicable standards are:
- EN 62311 – EMF for electrical/electronic equipment (0 Hz – 300 GHz)
- EN 62233 – EMF for household appliances
- EN 62493 – EMF for luminaires
- EN 62479 – EMF for electrical/electronic equipment (10 MHz to 300 GHz)
